General Info

Orange Experience is an Open Collegiate Synchronized Skating Team. Synchronized Skating is an exciting category of figure skating in which 8-20 skaters come together to perform a program in perfect unison. The collegiate division was created to allow athletes to continue skating and competing during college.

Our objective is to further advance collegiate synchronized figure skating at Syracuse University, to compete at the collegiate level as a recognized member of the USFSA, to assist members in developing further skating skills and leadership, and to give all members a chance to participate in competitions, exhibitions, and other activities.

The team has been coached by Lisa Mirabito since 2008 and is also run by elected students holding positions of On-Ice Captain, Off-Ice Captain, Team Manager, Financial Officer, Public Relations Officer, and Team Bonding Officer.

Try outs are typically held in September and practices start shortly after. OESU practices two times a week, Monday and Wednesday nights, times are determined by captains.
Practices are held at Tennity Ice Skating Pavilion located on Syracuse Universities South Campus. The university has busses that run from North Campus to South Campus.

OESU competes in a handful of competitions each season, announced by our captains and coach in our handbook created prior to the season starting. Cost of the team varies each season but there are many payment options available to make it as easy as can be!
